Trail to Quiet Beach
Shelter Cove is the perfect place to get away on a quiet retreat or a fabulous family vacation. This newly renovated family home has watched over the bay and seen glorious sunsets for many years. It has provided weeks of delightful childhood ramblings and exploration for its’ current owners, sisters who spent their summers growing up here. This home features a new private dock, newly installed wood floors, comfortable furnishings, and a two level deck overlooking the magnificent ocean views. Keep your boat on the dock, or launch your kayaks or canoe on the readily accessible beach.
The cottage’s two master bedrooms provide sunny morning views of the bluffs across the lake. There are three smaller bedrooms upstairs. The main floor living and dining rooms share a deck that provides easy access to a fenced front yard, lake and surrounding forest. There are full bathrooms on both floors.
Inside the home is a fully equipped kitchen and dining area. The living room is grand, with it’s high ceilings and wall of windows looking out on the bay. The huge stone fireplace is a dominant feature that will add to the coziness of the home in the shoulder seasons. There are three bedrooms – The master bedroom has an ocean view, deck, Queen bed, and bathroom. The second bedroom has a Queen bed plus a Twin bed, and the third bedroom has a Double bed plus a Twin bed. There is an additional sleeping loft with a Double bed. There are 2 bathrooms on the main floor, one with a bathtub.
“Shelter Cove was a wonderful space. Every possible tool and appliance was available. Everything was sparkling clean and tidy. The view is lovely, and sitting on the dock, memorable. It’s a two minute drive to the resort grocery store and swimming pool and restaurant, should these be needed.”

“We had three glorious weeks at Shelter Cove. Even the rainy days were most enjoyable with the lovely fireplace keeping the chill off the air. The house is well equipped and and comfortable. The privacy and quiet of the cove is an absolute delight, birds and nature surround you. A wonderful spot to rejuvenate. We will be back.”

“Beautiful location and fantastic view. Going out on the dock and just sitting there listening to the sounds of nature and the views outstanding. Beautiful cottage and outstanding fireplace. Otherwise very private comfortable and clean.”

“Shelter Cove is a wonderful retreat. The Cove is very private, with an endless supply of oysters and productive crabbing along Marina Island nearby. The dock is la perfect place to moor a boat that is 35′ in length or less and less then 6′ draft. It is reasonably well protected, except from a SE blow. The spacious house has been recently updated, with gorgeous floors and new appliances. If it wasn’t for the trees growing in front, it would have a world class view of Vancouver Island. The house is down a long dirt road ( a bit rough) and is surrounded by forest with no nearby neighbors. We found it spotless, well-appointed, and with plenty of room for three couples. Highly recommended.”

“We spent 2 weeks with friends, family and young kids and we all really enjoyed our stay. The house was big enough for all. We especially loved the fact that it was so private and remote with beautiful trails right beside it. We had our own private beach. Because we arrived by boat having our own dock was perfect and it was very well protected. It really felt like home away from home. We definitely will be back next year.”

“Shelter Cove is a special place for sure. Having a dock was such a bonus and we enjoyed having our boat tied up and ready to go fishing, prawning and exploring the area. We also enjoyed just hanging out on the dock, swimming or floating in our pool chairs. The water is such a beautiful green. The house is so open and spacious and although it’s situated among the trees, the skylights keep it nice and bright. The cupboard with the children’s toys/games were appreciated too and our four year old niece especially had fun putting on a deck tea party for us using the sweet little tea set/trays and the fun animal ice cube tray. The location is perfect, not only so close to the ferry, but with the Gorge Harbour Resort store right up the street its very convenient and the Whaletown Commons is a wonderful trail.
Thank You for sharing this beautiful home and property. We look forward to returning next year.”
