PropertyLocation - Hague Lk Haven.jpg

This family cottage provides a lakefront vacation with easy access to the ocean.  It is located at Hague Lake’s longest white sand beach, just a few minutes walk along a rainforest trail through Manson’s Landing Provincial Park to the tidal waters of Manson’s Lagoon and Cortes Island’s west coast beaches. The main floor living and dining rooms share a deck that provides easy access to the front yard, lake and surrounding forest. Parents can relax in the sun as their children play in the warm shallow lake, or you can swim to your heart’s content. Only non-motorized boats are allowed on this clean lake, an excellent natural place to explore by canoe or kayak, enjoying the diversity of wildlife from kingfishers and eagles to deer and otters. A short walk through a gentle forest trail takes you to Manson’s Lagoon. At the salt water lagoon you can explore the inter-tidal zone, dig for clams or comb the nearby beaches.

The cottage’s two master bedrooms provide sunny morning views of the bluffs across the lake. There are three smaller bedrooms upstairs. The main floor living and dining rooms share a deck that provides easy access to a fenced front yard, lake and surrounding forest. There are full bathrooms on both floors.

If you miss sunrise over the lake, you can make up for it with the outstanding sunsets over the sea at Manson’s Lagoon or Smelt Bay. The village of Manson’s Landing, just a few minutes walk up from the lake, provides everything you need from groceries and books, fresh coffee, and baked goods. There is also an active community hall, a playground, and several seasonal cafes.

“Hague Lake Haven lives up to its name. Being out 8th year visiting Cortes, this vacation home is top notch and very relaxing.”

“We had a really great stay at the Hague Lake Haven. The house is well appointed with comfortable beds and nice down pillows for a great nights sleep. The location on the lake is spectacular with beach access. The caretaker Luke was very friendly and was quick to help with any questions that we had.”

“We loved this home! It was perfect for our grandchildren and gave everyone the space they needed. Really appreciated all the small touches like the stools in the bathrooms to help the 2-year-old be able to brush her own teeth….We loved kayaking and swimming on Hague Lake, hiking the Kwas Park trails, kayaking on the ocean, and low tide walks near Hollyhock.”

“We loved Hague Lake Haven – lovely views, so spacious and comfortable and incredibly well equipped – even including a high chair and baby gate. We felt very welcome and the owner was so thoughtful about accommodating our needs in regard to arrival and departure times – which was a lifesaver for us travelling with a two year old with our daughter needing to be on the island for work. It really could not possibly have suited us better and was a wonderful place to begin the new year! Much appreciated!”

“We absolutely loved the home. I think I could live there. ..such a neat property with beautiful views of the lake.
It was so warm and welcoming for my family of ten, and very well stocked… with absolutely anything you needed….and lots that you wouldn’t have even thought of. It is very central…. perfect for attending the wedding at Hollyhock , quick trips to the market and going out exploring the beautiful beaches on the island. Having all the bedrooms upstairs was perfect..with lots of room on the main floor.
I would definitely rent this property again! Luke the property caretaker was so friendly and accommodating and having him right next door was perfect.”
