This family cottage provides a lakefront vacation with easy access to the ocean. It is located at Hague Lake’s longest white sand beach, just a few minutes walk along a rainforest trail through Manson’s Landing Provincial Park to the tidal waters of Manson’s Lagoon and Cortes Island’s west coast beaches. Parents can relax in the sun as their children play in the warm shallow lake, or you can swim to your heart’s content. Only non-motorized boats are allowed on this clean lake, an excellent natural place to explore by canoe or kayak, enjoying the diversity of wildlife from kingfishers and eagles to deer and otters. The lake’s abundant and delicious trout make for good fishing. At the salt water lagoon you can explore the inter-tidal zone, dig for clams or comb the nearby beaches.

If you miss sunrise over the lake, you can make up for it with the outstanding sunsets over the sea. The village of Manson’s Landing, just a few minutes walk up from the lake, provides everything you need from groceries and novels to lattes and martinis. There is also an active community hall, a playground, and a couple of excellent cafes. The cottage’s two master bedrooms provide sunny morning views of the bluffs across the lake. There are three smaller bedrooms upstairs. The main floor living and dining rooms share a deck that provides easy access to a fenced front yard, lake and surrounding forest. The bright and sunny cottage offers everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The lake is only steps away and you have access to a private sandy beach just down the road so you can swim to your hearts content. Bring your own canoe or kayak and explore the lakes. (no motor boats allowed on the lake)

The newly built cottage is very tastefully appointed and offers all the conveniences of a modern home. The front decks overlook the lake and give you access to the lake only steps away.

The loft bedroom is accessed by a spiral staircase and overlooks the lake.

The living room includes a wood stove for cozy intimate evenings. The cottage is tucked away behind the rocks and the lake view is tranquil and relaxing. The cottage is located within minutes of the wonderful K’was Bay hiking trails. This area is a bird watchers dream with many water birds and song birds nesting in the area as well as bald eagles, blue herons and king fishers plus there are beaver and otter in the lake as well as trout. more photos

Brambly Hedge Cottage is a new, comfortable and well-appointed cottage on the shore of Gunflint Lake. The property is ideal for a small family or two couples. The chattering water fowl that live along the lakeshore and the timid deer that come for evening visits will make you feel that you have left the city or suburbia far behind.

Gunflint Lake is perfect for a gentle swim from the dock and trout fishing (catch and release). There are easy to more strenuous hikes available nearby, and facing the cottage on the other side of the lake is Kw’as Park. It is one of the treasures of the island. The park has an extensive trail system that takes you past old growth trees to delightful swimming rocks. You’ll want to spend more than one day exploring all that the park offers.

Brambly Hedge Cottage has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a queen bed. There is a bright open-plan living room/kitchen combination and the cottage is graced with a lovely deck overlooking the lake. Just finished, the cottage has fresh, new appliances: electric cook top, microwave, convection oven, dishwasher, large refrigerator/freezer, clothes washer and dryer. It is also equipped with a television and DVD player and a barbecue.
