Cortes Island is dressed in a lush, beautiful robe of evergreens and is surrounded by the sea and snow-clad mountains of our stunning Desolation Sound mountain range. Hidden away in the center of our island, on its south end, are two fresh water jewels.
Hague and Gunflint Lakes are unspoiled by pollution or overuse; they are truly pristine. They are joined by a narrow but passable (by canoe or kayak) estuary. Kids and adults will feel that they have found a hidden summer paradise.
